Spring is just around the corner

It is at the end of January 2017 and I am looking at bluebonnet images from previous years planning where to go this season. Spring is just around the corner only a few weeks away. Here are a few of our favorites from previous years.

This was another one of the bluebonnet sunset from Muleshoe Park from the first year of bluebonnets which is located outside of Austin in the Hill Country. This whole field was endlless bluebonnets, broken up only by the salt cedar growing along it edge. It was extremely fragrant too, but by the next year this field did not come back there were still plenty of bluebonnets, but not like the first year where the bluebonnets seem to go off into the sunset. Now of course this whole area is under water so it may be years before we see bluebonnets there again if ever. Hanging on to our memories of the perfect bluebonnet fields. We captured this gorgeous sunset landscape with the bluebonnets one evening while at a county park along the Colorado river in Texas. The colors of the sky that came out with the sunset were beautiful with the oranges, pinks and reds. Couldn't ask for a better sunset over the Texas wildflowers along the waters edge. Bluebonnet Trail

Here is another bluebonnet field we found,  it had this trail that seems to go on endlessly in this huge field of bluebonnets and oak trees.

We loved this trail through the field of endless bluebonnets on this Texas Hill Country ranch the path seem to meander throughout this great field of flowers. (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

Sunrise Texas coast

Just after Halloween this year we took a quick trip to the Texas Coast and got some great sun rises in Corpus Cristi and Port Aranasas. A pacific hurricane had come a shore in Northern Mexico and was sending up allot of high level clouds that caught the sun in the morning and the entire sky glowed red some 15 to 20 min before the sun came up. Here are a few images we captured.

We had started working our way down the beach as the sunrise was slightly above the horizon when we shot this one and loved the look of the underside of the pier and the sunrise together with the surf gently coming in and a few sea weed washed up on the beach to make for a pretty seascape. We captured this photo in the early morning right before the sunrise. I loved the sky with the colors and all the sailboats just waiting for another day to venture out on the bay. (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

Houston skyline

A few weeks ago we made a trip to Houston to capture some city images. Here are a few from that trip.

We capture this image as we came up to the discovery green park in Houston right across from the new George Brown Convention center and we thought it was pretty with the colorful flowers and the high-rises in the distance. (Bee Creek Photography - Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

Austin Sunset from boardwalk more images

A few more photos from the new Austin skyline Boardwalk on Lady Bird lake (Town Lake) at sun set. We went back down to the board walk again on Monday the sky was looking like it was going to be another nice sun set and boy was it ever. The sky pinked up right after sun set and light up the entire area with pink… This time we decided to get more of the boardwalk in the image and I think they turned out great.

Austin Texas Sunset from boardwalk

We have been waiting for a perfect night to go down to the new boardwalk. It is summer with typical weather with no clouds at sun set. This last week we had a night with high wispy clouds after a weak cold front that came through at the end of July. So we packed up and hiked out to the new board walk that goes out over Lady Bird Lake and the awesome view of Austin. Here are a few of the shots we got that night.
