Austin Zilker Christmas Tree

Another great capture of the Zilker Christmas Tree and Trail of Lights holiday photo with the Austin skyline in the background. This is such a popular holiday image we decided to go get a more current version since so many new buildings have been built in the last two years so here is our latest. This is an anual holiday event for Austin that adds just the right touch of Christmas cheer to your holiday!

This is our latest edition of the skyline with the Austin Trail of Lights along with Zilker Chrismas Tree for 2015. We capture this image with all the iconic high rise buildings like the Frost, the Austonian, Austin 360 and many of the new building recently built. This is an Austin tradition since the 60's. South Congress night life

We adventured out last night to South Congress after sunset to get some night life shots. South Congress has changed tremendously over the years and has gone from run down and abandoned to now a vibrant part of Austin with many boutique business and restaurants with a view of downtown. Torchys just opened a new restaurant on South Congress. Here are a few image we captured.

We wanted to take some street shot of the latest Torchys to go in Austin on South Congress. Torchys Tacos has become the place to go to eat the most unique tacos, so much so that sometimes the wait is a while just to get a seat, but well worth it. You can see downtown with the always bright Frost Tower in downtown along with the endless cars on a slow night like tonight making there way up Congress looking for parking which is a premium at at anytime. Weekend are so crazy well what can I say Austin love it streets, Sixth, West Sixth, West Third and of course South Congress all the up and coming places to be in this very active location. You can find live music, fine dinning, street food or unique tacos all along this quirky street in this active city. (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

We captured this of South Congress on a week night of people out shopping at the local stores like Maya's, Tesoros and others. You can see some of downtown high rises like the Frost and some downtown buildings. (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

The view down South Congress as the cars pass leaving these light trails. The store are open and people are milling around checking out the stores and the many restaurants along this area. You can see the downtown area with the Frost, Austonian and other high rise buildings. This area at one time was not someplace people went it was considered seed but in the last twenty or so years it has come back for locals and tourist to come to. (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

Austin fine art photography – Art in public places – Stars over the railroad bridge

We were notified a few weeks ago that our image the “Stars over the railroad bridge” was selected to be in the juried exhibit The 10th annual Art in Public places at the Austin City Hall. The printed image will hang for the next year in the Austin City Hall building along with 100 other pieces of art.

The image was printed on metal 30″x20″ and framed in silver. I put it up on our entry wall to get a picture of it before we took it to the Austin City Hall.
