Wow we had these two photos selected as editors pick for photos of the day for the Smithsonian Photo Contest for 2014 this year. Both Cynthia and I had a photo picked so we are really jazzed. We will not know who the finalist will be till March 2015 it is still an honor to have two photos picked. We will keep our fingers crossed of course. While we work together on our photos we each entered our own photos and both Cynthia and myself each got one selected so we are pretty jazzed that they selected our images. These are the two photo of ours that were selected for photo of the day for the Smithsonian 2014 Photo Contest.
Rush back several times to try and get this field of sunflowers at sunset and on our last try it finally worked. We had to added a little flash to keep enough light on the sun flowers as it was getting dark. We were not alone trying to capture this photo along IH35 that day there were many cars stopping to take picture of sunflowers on this day and every time we came. Farmers now are using sunflowers in their rotation of their crops so they can go on for miles (Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)
Smithsonian Photo of the day on October 4, 2014. We took this photo at White Sands New Mexico and capture this photo of foots steps that appear to be moving up to the clouds. (Bee Creek Photography – Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)
