Houston skyline

A few weeks ago we made a trip to Houston to capture some city images. Here are a few from that trip.

We capture this image as we came up to the discovery green park in Houston right across from the new George Brown Convention center and we thought it was pretty with the colorful flowers and the high-rises in the distance. (Bee Creek Photography - Tod Grubbs & Cynthia Hestand)

Austin Sunset from boardwalk more images

A few more photos from the new Austin skyline Boardwalk on Lady Bird lake (Town Lake) at sun set. We went back down to the board walk again on Monday the sky was looking like it was going to be another nice sun set and boy was it ever. The sky pinked up right after sun set and light up the entire area with pink… This time we decided to get more of the boardwalk in the image and I think they turned out great.

Austin Texas Sunset from boardwalk

We have been waiting for a perfect night to go down to the new boardwalk. It is summer with typical weather with no clouds at sun set. This last week we had a night with high wispy clouds after a weak cold front that came through at the end of July. So we packed up and hiked out to the new board walk that goes out over Lady Bird Lake and the awesome view of Austin. Here are a few of the shots we got that night.

Austin Architecture photographer – Bathrooms

Residential Bathrooms can be one of the hardest rooms to photograph. Not only are they small in size but they are full of highly reflective surfaces like mirrors, glass, chrome and even the tile that is used today is made of glass and other reflective materials that only add to the challenge. You may be able to place your flash(s) in such a way that is just right but how do you keep or minimize the camera/ tripod from being some where in the image while showcasing the millwork and the fixtures as well as the over all feeling of the space. Each space is a different challenge but that is the art of interior photography.

Here are several examples of bathrooms I have shot for a local interior designer, Spaces Designed.

This is a commercial bathroom in a medical facility.

Sun Set Grand Canyon AZ

This is the first of many fine art images from our trip to Arizona and New Mexico. This image was captured by Cynthia while she was being swarmed by tourist with phones and ipads trying to capture the same image. I know she was the only one that got this level of detail and range of light.
